Geographical Indications (IG) Part 2 (Purpose and Target)

Purpose

  • Increase the added value and competitiveness of plantation products based on Geographical Indications in the domestic and international markets
  • Provide input for farmers / producers / business actors and development agencies in the context of developing plantation products that have obtained certificates of geographical indication.
  • Facilitating communication between IG related actors in developing marketing access for Geographical Indications products.


Target

  • Increased understanding and equal perception of the parties, especially in the agricultural environment regarding the importance of Geographical Indications (GIs) to farmers, as well as business actors and other stakeholders for the specific commodity of the region that has superiority and uniqueness.
  • Appreciation for superior agricultural products that have specific regional characteristics / characteristics so that the IG product can be competitive with similar products.
  • Increased selling value of Indonesian agricultural products that have been IG-certified domestically and internationally
Scope
  • Optimization of Plantation Product Development Activities based on Geographical Indications consists of:
  • Escort and Assistance to the Society for the Protection of Geographical Indications (MPIG) and, businesses
  • Meeting on optimization of product development and development of market access for plantation products geographical indications.
